Natural Paper and Textile Covering

For the NOON luminaire series, natural paper is used inside the shades. The outer covering consists of 75 % viscose and 25 % polyamide. Viscose is also known as regenerated cellulose. It is produced by converting crystalline cellulose. As a purely natural substance, cellulose is the main component of wood and is usually obtained from beech, spruce, eucalyptus, pine, bamboo or annual cotton plants (LOHMANN, 2010).

The material combination of the umbrellas has a very warm, homely character and consists of 90 % natural materials. They comply with all the requirements of the European REACH regulation regarding the use of chemical ingredients and are classified as harmless to health.
