European Walnut

The European walnut tree belongs to the wider walnut family of trees and is a heartwood tree. In ancient Greece, walnuts were the food of the gods, signs of good luck and symbols of fertility. European walnut wood is generally lighter than its American cousin. What makes it so charming is its irregular vein pattern and cloudy colouring, which make this precious wood a material that has been sought-after for furniture and interior fittings for centuries. It is medium-hard, tough, supple and only slightly flexible. Walnut tree wood is classified as semi-ring porous and is naturally durable.
