Design by Formstelle, 2019Calm, cozy, modern and soft: these are the ingredients for our bed FRIDAY NIGHT. The designer duo Formstelle has created an extension of the FRIDAY family that brings the coziness of upholstered furniture into the bedroom. In their design, textiles and wood complement each other fluently in their formal language.
The backrest swings in a gentle arc from the headboard down to the ground. Midway, the elegance of the shape changes – it makes an unforeseen bend and the graceful back becomes a solid foot of the bed. The whole back looks like one piece and despite its solidity, it radiates a casual rest. In contrary, the front part of the bed seems to float in the air, due to the inwardly offset feet.
FRIDAY NIGHT is not just a bed, but also a sofa, cinema chair, breakfast lounge and a quiet island. Thanks to the sturdy cushions in the back, one sits straight and comfortable. The delicate seam pattern transforms the backrest into a cozy cushion landscape.
