Oiled finish

The wood surfaces of ZEITRAUM furniture are protected with purely natural oils. These oils are applied to the finely sanded surfaces and later hand-rubbed, resulting in a silky-smooth and resilient finish. When oiling, the wood is impregnated to a depth of at least 2 mm. This natural surface treatment is free from harmful substances. The wood is allowed to breathe, absorb moisture, and release it, unlike with painted or sealed surfaces.

Open pored

The oiled wood maintains its open-pore structure, allowing the natural grain and texture of the wood to remain visible. Over time, the wood can be re-oiled to preserve its beauty and protective function.

Breathable

Oiled wood surfaces contribute to a natural and healthy environment through their breathability. They help maintain a balanced moisture regulation and support a pleasant indoor climate.

Antistatic

Due to the antistatic nature of oiled wood, the accumulation of dust and other allergenic particles on the surface is minimized. This helps reduce the exposure for individuals with allergies.

The semi-transparent appearance of our wood stains
preserves the natural structure and depth of the wood.

Water-based
colour stain

ZEITRAUM uses a water-based dye stain. Colour pigments are dissolved in water. In this surface treatment, the colour pigments initially penetrate the wood pores along with the water. Subsequently, the water evaporates, leaving the pigments behind in the pores. The wood takes on a different shade. By introducing the colour pigments using water, a deep colouration is achieved. This type of surface treatment is durable, eliminating the risk of chipping or peeling paint.

provides excellent opportunities to add colour accents to furniture
and customise them according to individual preferences.

Opaque
colour glaze

The colour glaze differs significantly in appearance and technique from the colour stain. It remains on the surface and does not penetrate the wood. Unlike opaque paint finishes, it allows the visible wood grain to show through. To fix the color, the colour glaze is finally coated with a matt finish.

Robust and easy-to-maintain lacquer finish

ZEITRAUM uses a highly resistant 2-component polyurethane lacquer with excellent strength properties. The extremely matt topcoat is lightfast and transparent. It is used for stained products and recommended for commercial applications. Due to its exceptional processing and durability properties, it is suitable for public spaces. In addition to high abrasion resistance, the lacquer exhibits outstanding resistance to water, oils, and chemicals, while also being easy to maintain. It preserves the natural matte appearance and tactile qualities of wood.
