HTW Dresden opens sustainable creative centre for innovative design training
In May 2024, a new teaching and research building was inaugurated on the campus of the Dresden University of Applied Sciences. The central room of the building, the creative center, has been equipped with the stackable multi-purpose chair OKITO PLY. The robust and lightweight chair is used for meetings, auditoriums and teaching events.
The degree programme at the Faculty of Design at HTW Dresden focuses on the integrative design of hybrid products and applications, whereby physical, media and communicative aspects of design are considered and taught together from the outset. Students have plenty of room to experiment and develop their own topics. The focus is on developing a critical awareness in dealing with aesthetic, formal, sustainable, digital and social aspects of design.
The building was awarded the ‘BNB Gold Standard’ certificate, the highest standard in the federal government’s sustainable building assessment system.
