New furniture for the academy hall
The Maximilianeum in Munich, built in the 19th century, is an important landmark in the history of Bavarian architecture. The classicist building originally served as an educational centre for outstanding students and is now the seat of the Bavarian State Parliament. ZEITRAUM refurnished the Maximilianeum’s academy hall with tables and upholstered chairs.
With the use of armchairs and large tables made of solid wood, ZEITRAUM picks up on the architectural tradition of the building and combines it with modern design. The upholstered armchairs are covered with dark blue leather on the back and upholstered on the inside with a Rohi fabric that matches the colour of the wall paintings in the academy hall. The craftsmanship and natural materials are in keeping with the historical significance of the location. The solid wood furniture used brings value and durability to the rooms and at the same time emphasises the classic elegance of the Maximilianeum.
